RE-ELECT

William HAmilton for LApeer Board of commissioners

Welcome

I am William Hamilton, a Republican candidate running for re-election as Lapeer County Commissioner for District 6 which covers Lapeer Township, Metamora Township & Attica Township Precinct 2 (West Side).

Committed To OUR County!

About me

I am running for Re-Election to the Lapeer County Board of Commissioners because I have a desire to continue serving my community and the residents of Lapeer County. I am not just your typical rubber stamp type of commissioner and do not believe in the status quo. I believe Lapeer County deserves to be served by people who will ask questions about issues, be willing to make changes and not go along and except the old excuse of "that's how we always do things". The county and its government have to be willing to make changes to update county policies, equipment, IT infrastructure & procedures to meet the needs of today and I am that person to represent Lapeer County's commissioner District 6.

My family and I moved to Lapeer Township in 2015 after living most of our lives in Lake Orion and Oxford. We desired to live in a quieter, less busy area with a more country setting than city and area that shares our values. I have had other family who have lived in Lapeer County most of their lives and have spent time here growing up, so I have a long history in Lapeer County even though I have not lived here long myself.

I have always enjoyed working with computers since a young age and later developed an interest in cars and learning how to repair and service them along with learning about the computer systems on modern vehicles. I have spent all of my career working in the automotive industry in various roles across new car dealerships. I earned a degree in Information Technology in 2011 and currently work for an automotive data services company where my computer skills and automotive repair knowledge are combined into a great career.

I have attended local township meetings, county board meetings, GOP meetings and Tea Party Meetings. I have spoken passionately about the second amendment and in support of the second amendment sanctuary county resolution, law enforcement including support for pay raises for our county deputies and election integrity at county board meetings.

I am a strong believer in the constitution, our bill of rights and strongly believe government should be responsive to "We the People" and act in manner consistent with service to the citizens and not other way around.

I got involved in politics because I see the corruption, overreach and sometimes disrespect of the people by elected officials at all levels of government.
